And we're doing it all again next week at Murder One!

I have been very quiet because I've been finishing a book, & writing a short story- this (much better than on my other accs!) 1st pic is a clue to the short story...

Mark your diaries 4 next yr's Spike Island festival programmed by the incredible Michelle Dunne. Spike Island, off Cobh in Cork, is the Irish Alcatraz and is rather terrifying, but the perfect location for a crime festival! Cobh is the last port the Titanic left...we had an amazing weekend!
Spike Island in the sunshine, accessible by ferry from Cobh There are some very steep hills in Cobh!! Image shows one with a row of the very pretty coloured terraced houses with pointed roofs down the left hand side. The sea is at the bottom! Spike Island was a prison island and has a VERY dark past. Huge thanks to the Irish Independent for covering this, (I've just seen a BBC article about a musician this has happened to). For readers, the solution is to buy real books in independent bookshops, a win win for everyone and a lose for the scammers. If you prefer ebooks, be very careful out there 🤯

What a fab weekend @harrogatefestivals.bsky.social Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival! I was thrilled to be invited to a panel with current UK No 1 Claire Douglas, Kia Abdullah and fellow Irish author Andrea Mara, and it was the BEST session! And then breakfast with TVs Jeremy Vine!
A panel at Harrogate Crime Festival really is a huge author goal, and this was one of the best panels I've done! Between Cornwall and now, I was at the launch of a fantastic book The Night I Killed Him by @gillperdue.bsky.social, hosted at Eason Dun Laoghaire, honestly I was breathless reading this! It's a *must* buy! Here's a murderous line up of lady writers, if there was ever one!

Greetings Bluesky, I've been quiet because I've been to my happy place in gorgeous Helford Passage, Cornwall. We've been coming here for 20 years and it never fails to inspire. Got the page proofs of the new book done (Jan 26) and the opening chapters of the next one are now underway 😊
