Most big devs try to please some demographic ghost and end up with generic shit. Not Spacemom. She has a huge blockbuster of a game and she adds stuff from anime she likes. I admire her contagious self-indulgent joy of hunting voice actors she likes and making them voice steamy brooding romances.

Wanna know why? 'Cause this fast paced looter shooter added one of the best dating sims out there. Written by fujoshis and others freaks who use Ao3. Proof:

Go play 1.7 minecraft lol. But do not give microslop a single cent. I'm gagged here but there's plenty of ways to play while bypassing the need for an account, many of them only involving a simple command line. Modpacks are the way to go, modders have created so much for free.

Some recs for the kids, 'cause all millennials I know love these games. Go play Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. PS1, GBA and Nintendo DS respectively. These form the core "metroidvanias" people yap about. Shameless power fantasies about beautiful vampire people.

Some more console recs. Among Capcom's forgotten projects, there's the Gargoyle's Quest trilogy. A side-series to Ghost And Goblins, you play as Firebrand, the titular Gargoyle, trying to save the demon realm from itself. The third entry, Demon's Crest, is the best one thanks to its macabre tone.

Good morning motherfuckers. I still have a lot of recs to cover. Since we're hating on "AI" promoted by sickos, go try Kojima's Snatcher. Short fun game that's mostly Cool Vibes, Shoot Robots.

Another console recommendation. I personally am not a fan of PS1 3D Rpgs. 2D though? Give me. I wanna shine some light on Valkyrie Profile. Adult characters, great music, a story in which heterosexuality ruins everything... I heard there's a JP voice restoration mod if you prefer subs over dubs.

Another not-so-known gem for the SNES, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. Be warned it has POLITICS. You lead an army of fantasy weirdos, but fighting the baddies without becoming a war criminal yourself is the actual goal of the game.

It has the "Nintendo Seal of Quality on the top right, the "Super Nintendo Entertainment System" logo on the bottom, and on the right border a quip saying "THE ULTIMATE FANTASY SIMULATION R.P.G.". The main art is about two armies of fantasy figures clashing, on the left we have a dragon, siren, fairy, imp, beastmaster and an angel and on the right a wild man, a cleric, a dollmancer, a knight, a samurai and a wizard, all very colorful and in a deceptively cutesy look.

Back to cultural preservation. Flashpoint is an amazing archive of a mostly dead medium for animations and game dev. flashpointarchive.org

A lot of people entered gamedev through flash. Nice, short games. I recommend the "Don't Escape" series by scriptwelder, but there's a lot of good stuff.
