This little Ruby-throated Hummingbird landed right next to me.
She closed her eyes for a moment and by the end the of shoot she flicked her tongue!
Look at those little feet! They only have 4 little toes. Three point forward and one in the back to help perch. 💕

Upon our arrival on Prince Edward Island we were lucky to be graced with Northern Gannets.
Their head plumage was so much brighter than I am used to as it dulls by September and I don't get to see them until the winter on the NYC/NJ shores.

It is said they eat 1 lb a day yet at times they eat a small mammal that can be 2 lbs!
