My joining BlueSky is something of an experiment; is there a fine line separating enjoyable social media usage that connects those with similar interests, from bad-faith content farmers who infiltrate those spaces to create divisive, hostile atmospheres?

And if not, is it time to log off for good?
It’s not that it doesn’t occur to these producers that learning what you’re doing as an actor weeks in advance might help enhance your performance, they genuinely do not care.

Not if mild story spoilers/leaks can impact their bottom line.
Elizabeth Olsen learned three weeks before filming 'Doctor Strange 2' that she’d be the main villain

Can’t stop thinking about this moment.

That tiny lowering of the gun as he relents, understanding completely who he is, the part he played in all this and who the real enemies are. A sign of humanity that tragically comes too late.

It’s an absolute crime that we didn’t get a full week to properly digest & discuss Andor’s ‘Who Are You?’, a masterclass in suspense and tragedy.

Instead, it’s quietly dumped as one of three episodes, robbed of its impact & cultural moment.

Disney’s release schedule really screwed these guys.

Feeling intense creative burnout at the minute. How to get out of it?

Is Civil War actually an affront to humanity or do its artistic intentions simply not align with the ones you prematurely ascribed to it?

Big ups to Mark Kermode for wading thru the obnoxiously loud hate campaign that clearly has little to do with the ‘sanctity’ of 1939’s Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, and cleanly divorce his review from culture war nonsense, to actually review the movie itself.

Others could learn a thing or two.

As someone who appreciated the earnestly messy sentimentalism of No Time To Die despite all its flaws, it’s bound to represent the end of a kind of artistry we’ll never see again with Bond.

Destined for the revisionism it deserves once audiences see how a stripped-for-parts commodified 007 looks.

Absolute insanity that Justice Smith keeps winding up in crap that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Detective Pikachu when he’s capable of giving the kind of performance he gives in this.

I Saw The TV Glow isn’t a horror film until it is. In its apex moment, is hair-raising. Finally, a movie for the LGBTQ+ Buffy fans!

YFNSM feels earnestly written & as socially-conscious as a synergistic capitalist brand extension can. Not a fan of the animation AT ALL & the characters are all overly polite with 0 bite, but its handling of the dual identity struggle shows promise. Kids have a new Spidey to enjoy, which is cool.

Love that this is finally being treated as the dogwhistle it’s always been. 👏
Peter Parker voice actor Hudson Thomas says his biggest fear about #YourFriendlyNeighborhoodSpiderMan was that it was going to be 'annoying and woke'

"And it wasn't ... It's so well written"

Watching RRR: Behind & Beyond and absolutely floored by how huge an undertaking the production was. Overwhelmed & awestruck at the level of craft at every stage.

It truly takes a village.

If only it was twice the length & accompanying the film on some sort of UK home media release 👀

My Christmas media observation of the year is that all the stories told about kids being afraid of consumerism ruining the holiday but learning Christmas spirit trumps all, is still Capitalist propaganda. Sounds genuine but reassurance that it’s ok to keep overspending REALLY benefits shareholders.

So much this
I don't think this proves superhero movies are still as relevant as they were a few years ago. That time has passed. I think this proves that moviegoing audiences still yearn for Superman; a larger-than-life and enduring cinematic icon, yes, but more importantly, a friend.

Rewatched Minority Report & the action chase that takes Cruise into a car manufacturing facility & culminates in a fully-functioning car being assembled around him so that he can speed away looking badass is the most deliciously preposterous thing I’ve seen in a good while. Movies used to rock.
