I am in training to learn to drive Red Cross vehicles and participate in mass sheltering. The vehicles are very cool. The inter-relationships between RC, NGO's, the Southern Baptists, the Salvation Army and what's left of government is fraying. We all need food and shelter some time.

One of my retirement goals is to be of service. Red Cross offers me the opportunity to support people in their most emotionally devastating times. Yesterday, a young woman's house was declared uninhabitable because a vehicle ran into it. She is devastated and did everything right but shit happens.
