Actually, I think this might end up going well for Democrats. Thune was standing against Trump on ending the filibuster. People were about to starve. Trump's already proved that he's ass. The election was a beat down. I think Republicans are ready to rebel against Trump.

1) She has made it clear that some cults are led by an idea instead of a person. A cult is usually founded by a person. Then they either switch to an idea or they die when the leader does. For example, after Joseph Smith's death, Brigham Young stepped in and made Mormonism an idea cult.

They wouldn't? Cult leaders have a very strict ideas of how their people should behave, and cultist snitch on each other all the time. You could read her books and find out. "Uncultured," her memoir of being in the Children of God, and "The Culting of America," her warning to everyone.

Are we talking about the same military meeting? The one with all the top brass? They were a captive audience. I didn't hear any laughter at that one. The speech was laughable, though not a joke. They didn't applaud, even when Trump told them to, which he did. I'm glad he died at least on stage.

You misunderstand, so your sarcasm misses. Yes it IS scary if you're in the US. The old Gestapo and Waffen-SS were answerable only to Hitler and had no legal limits. The boat massacres were horrific but were average atrocities for the US. In Iraq, we killed a half million people, remember?

I wasn't answering you. I was answering fgh. If it got attached to you post, it was a mistake. Therefore, "You know nothing . . . " wasn't directed to you. I was arguing that the military's cult dedication would prevent them from firing on civilians. That's actually honorable.

I served. That was my response when I first heard her declare it. She convinced me. She defines cults by the way they function and their relation to their individuals, not by what they do. If you disagree, you should also take it up with her.

I'll bet it doesn't continue now that they're on to this administration and have heard from Trump on why he's ordering it. They're probably refusing to do it now, but we'll never know about it until this ordeal is over.

ICE is a loosely organized rabble. Good for surprise raids and goonwork, but they're not a military force. Have you noticed that they're out of shape? That one guy who pushed that woman to the ground wasn't wearing a mask and looked like he was in his mid-fifties. Under Trump, they won't get better.

2) Trump and Hegseth's meeting with 800 top military brass should tell you something. They wouldn't applaud him and sat there stone faced. They hate him, both of them. He's trying to replace the upper brass, but the junior officers and enlisted ranks have the same oath.
