a short snippet from my in-progress fanfiction, from a document on ellipsus. it reads, "That same strange something from before tightens its grip around his heart when Elinor smiles at his words, a real smile, the type where the divots in his cheeks appear, and it suddenly feels like something clicks into place inside of him. The strangeness he'd been feeling, the paranoia that it wasn't really Elinor anymore, that he’d changed and Sanson had truly lost him… it disappears as soon as he smiles, just as quickly as mist in the daylight, and the full weight of the reality of it all slams into his chest. It's really Elinor. He's really, truly back, and he’s here, and it takes every bit of strength Sanson has to stop himself from sweeping Elinor into his arms and never letting him go again."
