I struggle with fiction but I cannot recommend this enough. It's like Pentiment levels of medieval research into Bavarian peasant life and 13th century natural philosophy but with aliens. Eifelheim by Michael Flynn.

I already do but that's mostly self-denigration.

Any profs who wanna supervise a project on the legacies of two kinds of reformation and the idea of freedom (Luther-Muentzer) and tracing that tension through German Idealism from Fichte to Feuerbach hmu!
sanktmaxtci.bsky.social
Yeah fuck it I might as well apply for post-docs, if I get one it might be the only long-term employment available (until Reform close even more departments).

Irigaray in Marine: Lover of Friedrich Nietzsche might be useful.

CHATGPT: I understand where you're coming from. You worked really hard to get here, and now it's time to enjoy the fruit of your labors.

ISILDUR: So I should keep it? Elrond says I shouldn't

CHATGPT: The ring is precious. Sometimes friends don't have your best interests at heart.

ISILDUR: true

Here is a bundle of thoughts I needed to get off of my chest as I embark on an endeavour that is filling with me with terror, trepidation, excitement and hope – but more importantly, purpose.

The CCRU cocked up on esoteric as well as political grounds!
sanktmaxtci.bsky.social
But as you say with cyberpositivity, that feedback loop around and within Landianism fell pray to its own hype. Even by esoteric standards the Landian CCRU mythos is internally inconsistent with its own prescriptions.

I don't think you really need Lemurs imo the decimal labyrinth is great for teaching say the Deleuze-Spinoza concept of numbering vs numbered number but the Lemurs themselves are just a vehicle for what they termed "Unbelief" (which I take to be different to the plasticity of belief in chaos magic).

Time-War is the understands an allegiance between the transcendental philosophy of time and the technical production thereof, allowing for desubjectivation by pushing the latter (and hence the former) past their limitations in an explosion of the capitalist regulation of time and consciousness.
sanktmaxtci.bsky.social
Imo the Y2K stuff was the most well-grounded part because of the understanding of temporality built into it which leaves open the possibility of similar accelerations past the limit of techno-capital, Anna Greenspan's thesis is excellent on this point. That was the Time-War praxis.

If you want to read something that deal's with the CCRU's actual problematics, read Zeroes and Ones, Anti-Oedipus, and The Black Atlantic!
sanktmaxtci.bsky.social
The CCRU was like the 2nd wave Black Metal Scene in Norway, specifically the Black Circle. Land was not "our Nietzsche" as Fisher said, but the Varg Vikernes of Deleuzianism.

Tbf all my published stuff on cybertheory does say explicitly "none of this worked and the pursuit of a digital desubjectivation instead forced us deeper into bourgeois subjectivity through digital labour and the platformization of the internet". Owl of Minerva and all that.

Translations of some short-form reviews & dense letter excerpts from Adorno over the 1930s on how he keeps finding himself forced to defend Freud in order to critique him!

The CCRU was a deeply embarassing mistake. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing without the material and philosophical legacies of that set, but it nonetheless remains true.

its truly remarkable, you have to really take the measure of it and it's almost hard to comprehend it, but the president of the united states is having texas invade illinois and oregon just to make twitter content
