SUPER fair, although there is something also very fun about a “girly” dressy with leggings and shit kicking boots when it’s cold <33333

I forget, do you enjoy a skirt/dress? Because for me, personally, nothing brings the gender euphoria quite like a twirly skirt.

lololol OMG, your bro is now my new favorite!! (Also welp, now we know what Aaron Burr’s childhood trauma was 😂😂😂)

In that case, nope, not for you! I love it beyond all reason, but like. This is an adaptation of a book printed by a Harlequin imprint, I don’t know if there’s much more Romance Novel than that.

(But also gosh, blowing past my bedtime last night to finish reading it was kind of really worth it. And 100 pages into the next book and I’m already a little sad that I have to wait 10 months for the last book.)

My coworker who I forced to read the series with me last year and I decided that our preferred reading order was 2, 3, 5, 6. And then treat 1 & 4 like a spin-off series that, while enjoyable, didn’t elicit as many emotions for us 😂😂😂

Eeeee!!! Hilariously I wasn’t ever in hockey fandom, I just picked the series up because an author who wrote my favorite baseball romances was talking about it, but gosh. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH. (My favorite is probably book 3, but that’s partially because books 2 & 6 aren’t one book lol)
November 29, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Yes, please start with book two. It’s not that book one is bad, it’s just very Baby’s First Novel in a way that is endearing after you read the rest of the series, but. Uh. Isn’t the STRONGEST note to start on, let’s put it that way.

Thank you, I’ll be here all week, sleeping on hangers in the coat closet 😂

… omfg, now I’m just ready sad that Angela Lansbury wasn’t cast as Doc??? “You promised me a nice QUIET Christmas” would be EVEN MORE WITHERING coming from her \0/

tbf, no one was really INVITED, they all just showed up 😂

Honestly I’ve had pretty good luck with laundry stripping if you don’t mind a loooooong soak (this guide says 4 hours - I feel like I’ve had to do well over 12 hours on some things, but since it’s not like it’s anything active, it never bothered me)

TRULY. I was, apparently, nervous enough that I forgot to eat lunch??? This basically NEVER happens

I think it was mostly because I really needed a refill on my blood pressure meds, and like. If there was ever something that was ripe for “lose some weight and then come back” that would be it /0/

In the essayist’s defense, this was specifically about Harry Potter, but like. I don’t think we need to worry in the year of our lord 2025 about someone discovering HARRY POTTER via trad published het fic.
November 24, 2025 at 9:16 PM
This is possibly even MORE stupid than the video essay I had to click out of which argued that filling serial numbers off fic and publishing it was ONLY OK if you didn’t mention that it was fic, because what if it became cross promotion for a canon we don’t want to give money to???

Honestly sports are a PERFECT metaphor for this for me! Like honestly, bored silly the few times I've tried to play baseball, but like, if I liked you enough I'd probably do it a few times, and mostly VASTLY prefer to be a spectator 😂
November 24, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Yes, that! It's just weird for it to be the default dnw verbage, instead of something a bit more neutral. It just almost feels like making that the default defangs its impact for folks who truly can't/don't wish to hear about any of it, you know?
