All opinions my own–I don't need anyone's help putting my foot in my mouth.
I could give two shits about AI-generated emoji, give me this kind of useful functionality instead.

Better yet if this prompt makes the change for multiple cards at a time, with the option to exclude some (in case there’s a company card in there or something like that)

When you add a new email address, iOS prompts you to choose if you want to add that address to iMessage and FaceTime.

Why not a similar prompt for physical addresses asking if you want to update billing and shipping addresses in Wallet?

Fifth, it’s the expectation. If Siri KNOWS where I live, why can’t it provide the same contact details to Apple Pay?

Fourth, the option to change billing and shipping addresses is hidden deep in the settings app, or in the Wallet menu, and there is no option to simply change both at the same time.

Third, these changes not only impact the billing addresses but also the shipping addresses, so you run the risk of shipping stuff to your old place (which I’ve done before)

Second, the area where I’d argue matters MOST that a change is automatically made is the area where a third party is going to verify that the contact info is accurate—such as when shopping online.

First off, I already made that change in my operating system and my bank also knows that I live somewhere new.

Where it bafflingly does NOT make this change automatically, is Apple Pay. This is very very dumb.

When I move, I also make it a point to change my address in the Contacts app, which makes the change in lots of places around iOS and MacOS—Maps, for example, can take me to my new home when I tell Siri to take me home.

When you move, there are tons of things you have to do to transfer your data from one address to another—bills, utilities, subscriptions, etc.

Add to that the hassle of the move itself and it’s overall an overwhelming and annoying time.

Which brings us to this Wallet pain point:

Since then, it’s been pretty seamless to transition to new devices, especially after iCloud took that information and ran with it.

I added all my contacts to Address Book on OS X 10.4, set up Mail, iCal, the works.

In fact, when you go all-in like this, it can be very easy to manage your digital life in general. Back in 2006 when I bought my very first MacBook Pro, I spent the time to tediously set up everything:

I’m assuming that Apple wants us to go all-in on their ecosystem, from Address Book to Mail, etc etc to Wallet too.

11/11 So in all, AI is best served as a launching platform for smaller outfits that lack the resources that AI can get them. It’s not here to put us out of a job, but to transform the way we work.

10/11 Someone that understands unspoken language, verbal cues, and can take initiative without a prompt is still more valuable.

9/11 That said, if/when this app takes off, the first thing I would do would be to hire a real person to take over development.
March 27, 2025 at 3:55 PM
8/11 I want to build this app now, and I’ve been using ChatGPT to help me along the way. I might switch gears to another model when the time comes to code the thing, but even with the intricacies of setting up a file and an iA for a well-structured app, it’s been invaluable.
March 27, 2025 at 3:55 PM
7/11 To give a concrete example, I’ve been toying with the design of an app. I know nothing about programming aside from some basic principles. I also don’t have the budget to hire a dev. Yet.

6/11 The fact is, AI *can* do the job impressively well. But it’s not without its faults, and in my recent experience, I’ve realized that AI will do the job until it gets replaced by a real person.
March 27, 2025 at 3:55 PM
5/11 One that I keep hearing more and more is that tech jobs, specifically developers, and sometimes #UX, will eventually be replaced by AI.
