GET CORPORATIONS OUT OF POLITICS! In fact WE THE PEOPLE (through our government) should be telling Corporations how they need to behave, not the other way around. I won't mind if we go a bit too much to the other side, controlling corporations thru (HUGE) taxes & then tax breaks for good behavior.

I hope they keep the pressure on Trump and the regime, though keep in mind that he will become more and more unhinged (and possibly, more dangerous). It's like playing whack-a-mole. You stamp out some awful thing he does and he does more, either as distraction, retaliation or just being bonkers.

Interesting take. I was initially furious and worried when I heard that Chuck Schumer had offered a deal. I did think "OMG capitulation!" Perhaps instead, it was strategy. I do hope so and that it will help out the Democrats (and the country) overall.

Listening to Heather Cox Richardson, she brought up some interesting points. IF Trump is out of it, WHO is making some of those decisions? I'm not saying he's not a terrible, evil person - he is. BUT how much is this unhealthy, possibly dementia-afflicted person a puppet?

So, right now, there some some MODERATE Senators trying to come up with a way to NEGOTIATE with the GOP on the shutdown. On one hand, MANY are going to literally starve (and we all, including BUSINESSES, need to help feed them), but if they capitulate, it could mean no healthcare or VERY HIGH COST.
