If a former Israeli prime minister can say this, what is stopping European leaders?

Great piece, and I am proud that the activist group I've devoted the most time to over the years was based on this idea: law students' ability to withhold their labor from corporate firms.

Check out @lsca.bsky.social people!

"...for protests to succeed, they must be backed by movements with the ability to promise to withhold—labor, debt payments, rent payments, or consumer support—and to follow through if demands aren’t met."

Glad to have gotten the opportunity to push this line in Time

Why Protests Should Be Promises
Modern movements that aim to advance racial equity should withhold and promise, rather than perform, writes Olúfẹ́mi Táíwò

Lawfares use of IHRA "leaves no room for Palestinian claims to rights and sovereignty..."In effect, that framework treats Palestinian political expression as inherently antisemitic. Lawfare champions even frame the existence of Palestinian culture and history as evidence of antisemitism."

In a new push for ‘lawfare’, pro-Israel groups are weaponizing the courts to silence criticism of Israel

"We can react by seeing all of this for what it is, and naming it by name: incipient state terror. We can react by associating ourselves with others who are repressed before we are. Only in solidarity do we affirm law."

"the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man mistakenly sent to a gulag... and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps.
This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped"

Let's be clear, Trump's outrageous detention of migrant farmworker leaders shows how his "working class" populism is hollow BS.

If he were pro-worker, his admin wouldn't be detaining labor leaders, but supporting all workers raising all wages across all sectors.

What we need is solidarity.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

This is the Vice President of the United States saying "excellent" to collapsing an apartment building full of civilians and *maybe* one person who wasn't a civilian.

This jibes with contemporary reporting that the raids hit several residential buildings, in each case killing about 15 people and wounding more. Maybe a little more of the conversation should be about how cavalier we apparently are about bombing civilian homes? www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/3/...

Letter from Columbia student Ranjani Srinivasan who fled the United States after ICE illegally terminated their SEVIS and Columbia arbitrarily de-enrolled them. An unfathomable level of violent predation and oppression happening at such a rapid pace.

It’s been said many times that the treaties supersede the separatists.

Alberta simply can’t leave without support from treaty signatories.

And today, Chief Billy-Joe Tuccaro of the Mikisew Cree Nation made it clear.

It’s a hard no.

A disturbing effort to crush academic freedom in Canada. Would appreciate some university presidents to affirm their support for academic freedom & importance of research in Canada.
