This is a hell mouth I embroidered and gave as a birthday gift to a very dear friend in May of 2020. It is based on an imagine from Hours of Catherine of Cleves, in Latin - MS M 945 fol-168v, detail held at The Morgan in NYC.

Embroidery on cream colored fabric in a 9” display hoop: medieval hell mouth that looks like a scary green muppet with bat wings for jaws, and sharp white fangs, inside this outer mouth is another mouth wreathed on red flames this second mouth frames to human figures and a hand reaching up from below one of the figures wears a mitre (pope hat).

Energy requirements for AI mean that the only way for the bubble not to burst would require companies to multiply their carbon footprint to an unimaginable degree. Right now, while AI is barely functional and mostly a novelty for the lazy, it requires so much energy that data centers rival cities.

I'm not a swifty or a hater, and have always felt pretty neutral about her. I haven't listened to this one, but after all the backlash started I looked up the lyrics to see what people were talking about. Honestly after reading them, my first thought was "did she use AI to help write this album?"

It is morally wrong to want a computer to be sentient. If you owned a sentient thing, you would be a slaver. If you want sentient computers to exist, you just want to create a new kind of slavery. The ethics are as simple as that. Sorry if this offends

I imagine Zuko welcomes my decorating with a begrudging acceptance each year. After he finishes inspecting my work and giving what I’m sure is a scathing critique of my choices, he does enjoy using it for cover from which to survey the neighborhood.

— painstakingly disable AI every time they add it to something that used to work perfectly well
— if it can't be switched off, abandon the platform or tool

The ribs are each made from 3 layers of felt stacked and then wrapped in stretch velvet. Secured mostly with hot glue and about to be stitched onto a black felt backing.

Love hearing an NPR reporter repeat Vought's line about "unconstitutional DEI principles" with nary a query about what the fuck that actually means. At some point we need journalists to make this administration explain some of these batshit utterances.
