*safer streets, public transport, cycleways, clean water, fixed pipes, community facilities, more trees... awful!
Best discovery recently was Pics with cracked pepper!! So good. Haven't seen it on the supermarket shelves, but it was at their stall at the Go Green Expo. I now frequently pepper my peanut butter on toast 😋

Disappointed to hear the new Police Commissioner say on RNZ this morning that it was a failure of leadership and not systematic. Those 'leaders' were created by the system. Women needed to hear recognition that it could be systematic and a determination to investigate and deal with that.

Thanks to Susan at @christchurchlib.bsky.social for the 1 on 1 creative session this morning. We tried laser etching denim, but decided the best Scrabble board for tramping is this vinyl heat transfer. Looking forward to using it on the Routeburn in December 😀

There's a lot more energy in the system these days. Pity we're not doing much about it atm apart from fanning the fires by opening up new areas for fossil fuel exploration 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Book rec. for International Women's Day! This was a gift last year when I was going through some crap. It covers politics, journalism, business, framing, beauty, intersectional prejudice, and lots of enlightening examples and interviews, including with those who have lived as both men and women.

For those who don't follow the news from Te Waipounamu - CCC has just reached agreement with the PSA to get wages up to market rates. It's been a bone of contention for some time and one of the reasons we've lost so many great staff.

Pre-election leaders' debate v new govt in power. Just so awful... you can see what's coming - time to stand up and say no.

Just the old streets and Tunnel Rd 'under construction' too. Little development on Mt Pleasant... Cannon Hill only planned, it looks like.

Found these old maps in a box at our local Heathcote Valley community Freecycle Day this morning! World (early 40s), NZ (1959) and Chch (1962). Daisy is contemplating world domination 🌏🐈
