Absolutely this.

Christian nationalism is a risk to the Rainbow community, to women - to anyone who isn’t a privileged white cis man.

NZ is moving quickly from taking selfies with some of the worst people in the world to implementing the same values and behaviour as policy - it can’t continue.

This is a real possible future, but it's also a choice that we make everyday - with our purchases and our votes. Hold those in power to account and give those working for a better future your help.

I've added an extra half for now - pharmacist gave me my repeat a little early. Hopefully that works while I wait for an appointment.
Yeah - govt completely gaslighting on climate, but I'd have expected RNZ and Stuff to have mentioned at least a possible link to this weather by now.
Coincidentally, $8100 is the total maximum cash assets you can have to be eligible for the accommodation supplement on jobseeker.
BCR on Ōtautahi's major cycleways is 13-1, but deemed wasteful and funding cut 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's enough blow-out to build a new hospital and staff it 🤷🏻‍♀️
New from me: Just eight of the Government's 17 Roads of National Significance have already seen costs blow out by $5.1 billion - before any shovels are even in the ground.

The full programme would cost $44-$54 billion on the latest numbers.

$5b-plus blowout for eight Roads of National Significance
The Government's 17 Roads of National Significance will cost it at least $44 billion – enough to rebuild Dunedin Hospital 23 times over. Marc Daalder reports.

Does the highly paid Brian Roche not understand how inflation works?

Inflation rates are always historic - the prices have already gone up. Workers are already paying those prices.

When the rate drops - prices don’t go down, they just rise more slowly.

Hmm. Unhelpfully says that the 'sponsor' ie maker, says they're fine and we might just be applying them incorrectly. Grr. Have had symptoms increase over the last 10 days or so, so will contact doctor today.

A sometimes overlooked but very siginficant part of the cost of climate events is disruption and lost productivity, rather than direct damage. We see the damaged infrastructure, but what's the economic impact of a good chunk of Wellington taking the day off tomorrow?

Extraordinary weather events forecast for much of AoNZ tomorrow. NOT usual spring winds, but MEGA RED ALERT WARNING winds. This is climate change. This is climate change HERE NOW. This is why we MUST meet our agreed greenhouse gas emission reductions. It’s not politics - it’s SURVIVAL Mr. Luxon.
There's a lot more energy in the system these days. Pity we're not doing much about it atm apart from fanning the fires by opening up new areas for fossil fuel exploration 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
This 👇

There is money - it's about priorities. Low value roads or healthcare? Taxcuts for tobacco companies and landlords or education? These are real options that the govt has had.
"They know they can’t deliver all of these projects, but they want to pretend they still can. It seems that whatever the question, this government’s answer is 'More RoNS'. But more RoNs will bankrupt the nation."

In today's post, Matt Lowrie gets real on the costs of Roads of National Significance.
Reality bites: RoNS will bankrupt the nation - Greater Auckland
The government’s Yesterday’s funding announcement on preparatory work includes this for the East West link: Funding of $102m to progress design, consenting and route protection. Hamilton Southern Link...

Ditto! I am up to date with messages and emails - not quite all filed away, but all responded to. It's an odd, but satisfying state. And, I have 'to do' list that is shrinking instead of ever-growing.

So the Prime Ministers new attack on teachers is their 12 weeks of school holidays which we all know many teachers work through.

Regardless. NZ Parliament has 20+ weeks of recess each year including a far longer summer break than most professions including teaching!!!
Or simply, recess, like the MPs.

As National announces more roads
It's a goal of mine to help make this the most famous, well-known and UNDERSTOOD quote about cities in history. Please share it as much as you can.
Thanks! The biggest and best experience I've ever had (kids aside!). Incredibly grateful for an amazing team and the community that built around our shared vision.
A bit of time for rest and reflection before deciding next steps. #bankspeninsula
