Beauty doesn’t grow in a vacuum. It’s rooted in labor: often invisible. The hands that harvest, cook, and carry these foods rarely get seen.

Raids on farms, taquerías, hospitals. These are spaces we all benefit from daily, people who contribute to the magic of LA.
California was once Mexico.

I’ll hoop to any kind of genre as long as I can *feel* it. Apologies but Beyonce is bringing all the feels during this era.

As a lifelong vegetarian, meat and fish have always fascinated me. This is in the fish market in Valle de Guadalupe, where they really appreciated my shock at these crazy GEODUCKS!!! And was kind enough to present it to me 😂

Yesterday was the Trans Day of Visibility. In honor of that, I'm sharing photos of Shear, a trans woman I met while volunteering to photograph members of a trans youth charity.

I believe there's a profound beauty and wisdom within experiencing multiple genders in one lifetime.

Students have historically been active changemakers thru the important act of protesting—we seem to forget. the dramatic bias of media companies painting protesters negatively is to
1. Avoid the police accountability for abuse + power of police unions
2. Silence speaking out against injustice

SEEKING Historical / documentary podcasts about the state silencing protests & police unions to share as resources in light of activists a
being attacked by Trump and legislating our right to protest. Open to any genre.

our civil liberties are being attacked on all fronts. It’s very dangerous to conflate protesting with assumptions that protestors are the violent ones, when in fact many police departments have already been tried and prosecuted for their violent transgressions in the face of unarmed activists.

Not only was the United States healthcare system not built with chronic illness in mind—It really feels like they put systems in place to make it harder to obtain consistent and continued care for chronic issues.

Between H1N1, our divorce from the WHO, the lack of CDC updates, & egg prices now’s the perfect time to eat everything local from your farmers markets, dairy & meat free. Cuz that’ll be cheaper than those health bills 🙊🙈

Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them — “they’re studying the spit of lizards?!” — remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

Missing the early days of IG when I was living in Venice, got my first smartphone, & was posting crazy looking dead fish I found on the beach with a Rio de Janeiro filter and my hands moving through plants. What a descent this has been, in both artistry caving to companies to be SEEN — & censorship
