Climate, international shitshow, human & environmental rights & whatever interests me. Irish, she/her. Mostly harmless but inclined to bite or at least relentlessly mock bigots. Irrational fear of harmonicas. Figuring out new place.
This is why it never quite worked for Sean Spicer.

I know little about the original socialist party that the fascists took over, but getting murdered for being a socialist and then your party name becoming synonymous with your murderers was pretty unfortunate.

Oh, I saw the Muppet one too and went "...bait"

We have a sacrificial idiot for every red warning. Someone's gotta do it to protect the rest of us.
December 2, 2025 at 2:27 PM
Well...goddam. I'd never heard a whisper on that.

Basically just means any high-impact physical strike, generally with something that explodes. Bombs, missiles, the big booms that makes Hegseth get all tingly.

(Also he's the sort of wanker that uses military terminology to sound cool)
December 1, 2025 at 10:57 PM
In reality, yes, but odds good he'll be punished as the originator of the order. Leavitt's left wiggle room; "these kinetic strikes", along with Hegseth's denial earlier. Kinetic strikes in general, specifics left up to cmdrs on the ground, admiral exceeded authority, too bad, etc.

I don't think I'm going to get an etsy witch all the way out here, so will probably have to do my own decorating this year. ☹️
December 1, 2025 at 6:55 PM
The North Korea incident was known about before that and we've all known they're just blowing boats up whenever they like, which would be illegal orders in themselves.
December 1, 2025 at 6:03 PM
The US last *declared* war in WW2.

Everything since then has been highly dubious. The most powerful country in the world going "lol, it's not war, we're just bombing you".

At a guess, a combination of factors such as over/under ~10, then gender, then age between 11-18, plus other considerations like "do i benefit?" (He was running against the Josh guy) and ethnicity of perpetrator/victim.
December 1, 2025 at 5:47 PM
I'm inclined to agree. Problem is that there's too many that do apparently have these impulses which are probably not their faults until/unless they act on it. But it's too late at that point. Which means they need to be able to access help without destroying their own lives before harm is caused.
December 1, 2025 at 5:38 PM
(Mind you, the guy he was running against should have stayed the hell away from the whole thing because that also doesn't look great.)
December 1, 2025 at 5:34 PM
The full report* is a lot more dubious, especially his arguing to the decoy "14yo" that he was only 17. Which'd still be side-eye. The texts were apparently fairly explicit and the decoy's "age" was said.

*per Baller, anyway
December 1, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Oh knock it off, you know people were disagreeing with you using the term incorrectly, it doesn't mean that we prefer war crimes to people misusing terminology. Grow up.
December 1, 2025 at 5:22 PM
Go figure the US allows torture. Barbaric country. No, they aren't eligible for ICC because the US says it'll invade the ICC if anyone tries and no, disagreeing with your phrasing is not support for war criminals, don't be daft.

Oh you do you, I've lost interest in this nonsense.
December 1, 2025 at 5:20 PM
...to appear like the end of the sentence that started "may as well say"?
December 1, 2025 at 5:18 PM
- "torture them in accordance with US and international law", it's self-contradictory because no quarter (& torture) are both illegal per both.
December 1, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Bewildered by your context, I looked up your tweet - you called for summary executions of those accused. That's what it means. And if you're going to use it colloquially, definitely don't when you're talking about the military and international law for..obvious reasons. May as well say -

Didn't know that bit! A lot of these things in retrospect sound like they could have been post-viral myalgia/ME/CF/etc. I think it was also just accepted a lot more that some people got sick and were left invalids, chronically ill, poor constitution etc. There were many illnesses that could -

Although it's an interesting and dark echo that fascism arose last time after a debilitating pandemic and one of the sets of victims focused on last time were disabled survivors of the Spanish flu.
December 1, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Bit late by then. I'm not overly bothered by their souls afterwards, I'd prefer if the "not obeying illegal orders" meant something. Them feeling bad about it later (Hollywood biopic incoming alert) isn't really that important.

(We are taking slightly different angles on it tho)
December 1, 2025 at 12:53 PM
No Jessica, showing no quarter is an actual infringement of human rights. Telling you not to be a numpty is not.
