People are fixated on this badly-overstated observation, but his general thesis — that MAGA is an “uprising of ignorance” not dissimilar to the Khmer Rouge and Taylor’s childrens’ army that, he thinks, will soon be shown to have badly overplayed its hand — is a pretty sound one.
