i love selfish characters and i think that's why brooke appeals to me the least out of the main oth girls. she just takes everything people do to her and i know it's gonna get better but god do i find her and lucas' scenes physically painful to watch.

2000s tv feels like it's being so careful not to have its mcs do anything that would make you not root for them, and it could be less careful - esp bc they then end up introducing underprivileged side characters to be Evil Bad for conflict -
