This account exists to spare my friends from my D&D obsession. Lots of Warhammer too. #OSR #TTRPG #40K. Part of the #torontOSR!

I run the OSR and Inq28 BlueSky feeds!

My blog: save.vs.totalpartykill.ca, just like my username! He/Him.
I loved those Team 7 mini series. Shame they never did trade paperbacks of them.

These looks cool! My friends were reading the comics when they first came out, when I think they were really leaning into comic pinup vibes. J. Scott Cambell’s stuff, or maybe it was Brandon Choi. (Real teenage boy fodder—ha!)

I feel like everyone is obsessed with the style you see in Gavin Norman's games, the stuff he does for OSE adventures. I like short room descriptions. If they are just a few lines then nothing else really matters.

That said, I still think DCCRPG adventures could be better laid out!

Post-OSR. It's basically the OSR, but with the word post in front of it.

I have similar thoughts, which I wrote about a long time ago on my blog. "Solid adventures inject their ideas into your head as if they were your own. DCO is easier to run because its elements are so compelling."
Save vs. Total Party Kill - Deep Carbon Observatory Review Reprise: Storytelling as Information Design
Patrick and Scrap are currently running a Kickstarter for the follow-up adventure to Deep Carbon Observatory, Demon-Bone Sarcophagus, so now seems as good a time as any to talk about their work. This ...

Nice will keep an eye. I’m curious how much time I’ll actually have this go around.

I used to run a BBS! Land of the Wicker People. My dad had a fax line I would hijack to run it, which he was cool with except for when he needed to get faxes.

I haven’t used this recently, but it used to be BitTorrent sync. It’s peer to peer. So you can control where everything ends up.
The new standard for high-performance data everywhere.
Supercharge data movement across your existing storage systems, unlocking data transfer speeds previously thought impossible.

A judicious use of bubble wrap! It's funny the tracking for this package didn't change since the 17th of December. I thought it might be trapped there forever, was going to email you in a couple weeks. But then it just suddenly showed up out of the blue! That was a nice surprise.

I have no idea why it didn't tag @n13e86.bsky.social properly. Anyway, you can see more of their work by checking out their feed.

bearblog / blot.im. The person that runs blot seems pretty great, but it's based in the US. If you are a super nerd you can host yourself. But ... that's probably more than you want to do. (The person that runs bearblog also seems really good / accessible.)

What happened to that guy? His stuff was cool. He must be a grownup now.

I’ve only ever had a good time playing DCC RPG. I’ve never ran the system or modules, though.

I have similar feelings. They are a better version (in basically every single way) of the modules TSR was making, which I think is their goal. Goodman clearly has some vision for what he’s trying to produce.

Different people are going to want different things from their gaming material. Similarly for preparing for play. Lots of people don’t have the time or inclination for heavy prep. I’d say that’s one thing that makes PbtA based games popular.

My own reviews of early DCC modules:

Sailors of the Starless Sea is one of the greatest adventures ever, which is why I try not to put too much stock in maximal usability. Creativity is worth something too.
