I've seen people on xitter talk about it, but what's the deal with the oasis outfits in mario kart world being considered offensive?

I remember a similar debacle about mario odyssey's mariachi outfit, although last I recall mexicans didn't mind that one? why is it different here? genuine question

idk, i could see DKC and mainline mario coexist considering they explicitly share a location (new donk city)

assuming pauline is in the same age range as the other mario humans sans rosalina, this would put the DKC games chronologically between yoshi's island and mainline mario

it's kinda funny how often the SMB1 underwater theme is used as a title screen song

mario 2 USA did it first. then all of the mario all-star remakes, the mario advance games, and the SMB deluxe version of SMB2 lost levels had it as well

is it like the unofficial classic mario anthem or something

SMB2 lost levels is too similar, essentially a DLC pack for the first game. SMB2 USA is a reskin of an entirely different game and is only loosely similar to SMB

mario 3 properly builds on the original's formula, neither straying too far or being too close for it. it's the perfect sequel

I tolerate SMB2 lost levels a little more now

I still think it's a horrible sequel to SMB1 and its level design is downright evil, but i tolerate its existence as a game for people who played SMB1 a lot and/or are masochists

feel like it's already been forgotten that twitter fucking up didn't even instantly make bluesky take off, they lucked out by having elon shoot himself in the dick like 5 times which eventually got people to migrate and now they're taking it for granted like they achieved something
