Odd echinoderms in Monterey Bay on Saturday. Shoals of little sand dollars(sand nickels) @50ft. Also a sea cucumber half off a rock in an L shape. The photo of the exposed part looked extremely red? Also, white diseased urchins everywhere. What’s going on?

SaltwaterFocus.com is now live.

I think this is a worm. I also think it’s Wednesday. Found this in a touch tank. #WORMWEDNESDAY

My #molluscmonday #melibe contribution. I feel like this cheating because it was in a tank, not in the wild.#weirdrulesisetformyself

I’m working on a project to determine if looking at ocean images could evoke feelings of awe.
It would be super helpful if you could scroll through the photos and select an emoji reflecting your level of awe-smile being the most awesome, frown the least.

🤿 Sunday Monterey dive in the kelp forest. I was pointing my camera up to catch the sunlight through the canopy and wasn’t looking at the screen. I didn’t know a big friend swam over me at the end until I saw the video at home

Due to the recent interest in carnivorous squirrels in mind-I thought I’d post this old and blurry photo of a squirrel that attacked and ate a little bird.

Managed to squeeze in a few dives this weekend to close out November. I made a few new #nudibtanch friends.

Does anyone know what this tiny Monterey Bay #nudibranch might be?
November 25, 2024 at 1:28 AM
More Monterey #nudibranchs. The rainbows are too big to squeeze into macro shots. These two seem to be enjoying a romantic tube anemone dinner.
