Solar panels at 2kW output, heat pump using 1kW for space heating, the rest going to heat hot water tank.

When that's up to maximum temperature the rest will go to the grid.

I use Tracker, average rate is lower than price cap by a significant amount.

It's not like farmers are subsided by the state for multiple things, oh wait 🤔

Yeah, this is a daft U-turn. Now everyone is annoyed.

The CoP is off the scale (Coefficient of Presents)

This reminds me of the song Nation by Blaggers ITA:

"It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me, but the finding of liberty and prosperity"

Aren't CCGTs only 60% efficient, so aren't we burning 16GW of gas?

What a lot of nonsense, if the heat pumps are even at 45 decibels that's barely audible against background noise.

I know because I have a heat pump and I live in a quiet rural location down a track with no through traffic. Bloody birds are louder than the heat pump 🤣

It's easy to find the source of crypto donations, and if the source cannot be positively determined then the funds should go to charity.

What it takes though, is proper oversight and record keeping.

This is the irony of modern building technology, we actually don't need heating anymore.

All we need now is builders incentivised to actually do it.

A way to need a smaller heat pump and less radiator and pipework changes, is to improve insulation and reduce draughts. Reducing heat loss, means you need to put less heat in, which makes things easier.

Get a good heat loss assessment and this helps you to know where you stand.

It's as simple as this, you have to put as much heat into a house as it loses when it's cold outside. If an old house loses more heat, you need a bigger heat pump. Sometimes that means radiator and pipework changes, at which point it may become expensive, but it can always work.

No it's just a political way to try and stay relevant against the threat of Reform, it's got literally nothing to do with the economy, technology, jobs, environment etc.

Car manufacturers were irritated when Sunak moved the goal-posts, doing it in 2029 = disaster.

Do you have an accessible source for the number of gas plants, is it on a website somewhere?

"Every problem I have is a foreigners fault" is their lazy get out of jail free card meaning they don't have to take personal responsibility or work hard to improve anything.

Ironically, the mindset that caused most of our current problems.

It's worth thinking about the impact this has on energy prices. We need the same infrastructure to deliver less energy, so the unit cost of energy must increase to accommodate the fixed costs.

Using more electricity will reverse the cost burden per unit.

Bible tells good Christians to commit genocide and wipe cities from the face of the earth.

Let's just hope Reform don't read it.

I'm already on Tracker and I have a heat pump, I don't really see how Cosy will reduce our bills.

If I get a battery and charge it in the 3x cheap periods, then yeah 💯

One for each time Nigel is in Clacton?

Just guessing.
