As an addendum, after a whole day of this article being online (i.e., more than enough time for "AI" which can check the Web to be able to find it), here is Gemini once again getting the answer wrong, and fabricating a quote:

Nearly everything is terrible but @athenascalzi.com has made cookies and they are terrific, so that's one good thing in my day at least.

You couldn't make a movie like The Holiday today. We didn't have video stores anymore.

Went to a funeral today for Krissy's uncle, Ron. He was a good guy and had a well-lived life. Tell the people you love that you love them, okay? Thanks. Here's a dog and cat, living together.

News is coming to me via friends on Facebook, and via Fancyclopedia, that John Varley, who wrote Millennium, Steel Beach, and the Gaea trilogy (Titan, Wizard, Demon) has died. He was an excellent writer in the Campbell/Heinlein tradition, and I dug him a lot in my teens and early 20s. RIP.

Obviously, the tome that contains all of human knowledge (or so I surmised when I first encountered it at age seven)

I mean, I don't disagree

My fantasy football team finished first in the regular season, two games up on the next team. That and $6 will get you a non-Starbucks-because-you're-not-a-scab latte; it means nothing if I flub in the playoffs. Still for now I will bask in the computer's achievement, since it picked my team for me.

On the subject of typefaces, a fun thing I've learned today: If you put the name of a typeface into Google, it will at least sometimes give you the results in the typeface you're asking about. I don't know if that's dependent on having the typeface already on your computer; still cool.

Some people would say that Crocs are not appropriate attire for sub-freezing outdoor temperatures, but you know what? Those people are QUITTERS.

It's a longshot people will get this joke

DEEPLY disappointed that these K-Pop Demon Hunter Vans slip-ons with Derpy Tiger on one shoe and Sussy Bird on the other are only in kid sizes, topping out at side 7. I have smallish feet, but not THAT small.

In other news I have just discovered that Bluesky's GIF button is packed with Three Robots GIFs, this is how I know my art will live unto eternity

It would be nice to have just one day without Saja-related drama BUT NOOOOOOO

If you missed out on me personalizing books for you this holiday season, Jay and Mary's Book Center in Troy, Ohio, still has a whole bunch of signed books that you can still order from them. Go get them!

Time to sign some books for all y'all

The Gretsch in question is the boygenius Broadkaster jr, which was a limited run and now costs used roughly two and a half times what I paid for it new. It's a really nice guitar. Here are the details on it:
