Fuck I love Portland

I used to travel a lot for work - first by tour bus, later by air - and I always looked forward to West Coast legs. SF is my home away from home away from home but Portland is so delightfully odd

I mean, it was on the dissolution of domestic partnership paperwork we filed and I'm paying the state's mandated percentage because I'm not a shitty dad (lookin at *you* dear father (I digress))

Any garnishments I get won't affect my kids, and that's all that really concerns me.

IRS is not allowed to garnish to the point where I can no longer make support payments or cover their health insurance (which by next year will already be more than I can afford anyway).

tbqh my only financial concern is whether my kids would be on the hook for it, which they are not.

I have no property to lien on, there will be no "estate" when I die, and garnishments aren't allowed to be so much that I cannot make my child support payments (8 more years, I'll be dead soon after).

then the lines "you'll wind up in some factory" and "walk into an empty house" made me think Ha, no, getting a job in manufacturing AND being able to afford a house... that's so 80s

Are audits prioritized by income (lowest income gets top priority)?

There's gonna be a lot of tax protestors who'll only pay state taxes in 2026; just wondering how many it would take to overwhelm the enforcement division
