It’s been two weeks since ICE took Yuanxin Zheng from his father. He is six years old. He’s still not home. This has to end.

Remember that guy who argued with me for half a day that poor people in food deserts would be fine just using Walmart delivery?

Anyway.
Instacart got caught running real-time price experiments on shoppers — same groceries, different prices.

Workers know this game well: Instacart’s algorithm does the same thing to their pay.

🧪⚛️ The way NSF is being treated in the current administration is a disgrace.
NSF

- Forced reorg

- POs down ~ 40% (DRP, most rotators not renewed, retirements)

- Forced move (and we have to pack and clean) to a building with no furniture, little to no conference space for panels, inadequate 🛜, …)

I personally love the boxes they gave us for packing.

My Invisalign was supposed to arrive back in October, but it was shipped to a different office that failed to notify my office. I have a wedding at the end of August that I was hoping I wouldn't have them in for but I guess that won't be the case. (Dentist projected mine to take 9 months)

I got my Invisalign on Saturday. It kinda sucks to get it during the holiday season but at least the pain has tuckered out (until I changed trays in 2 weeks)

Work is kicking my tucchus today (but mainly because the office changed the printer system and now I can't get something to print I need in an hour)

🐈 What's TikTok good for? Examining which arthropods are hunted by cats.

🌍 Social media have become an increasingly useful resource in ecological research.

🪲 We now know that cats kill arthropods from 14 different orders.

I accidentally stepped on one of my cats and I'm going to spend the rest of the day thinking about what an awful person I am.

(She's fine, she first hid from me and I made amends by giving her and her sister wet food)

I need to publicly apologize for committing a concert cardinal sin last night at Sleep Token in BK. My friends and I cut the line to get in. We didn't mean too. We accidentally pregamed a little too hard. When we realized what we did while waiting in the security line we freaked out at ourselves :(

This is not how good science works

Every so often, I see people argue that Trump hasn't done anything to attack trans people's rights. This is absolutely wild to me because... well, he has.

I'm going to share some examples of things he did in his first 6 months, referencing the @glaad.bsky.social Trump Tracker. 🧵
