The CDC has ordered that all papers that have been submitted by their employees for peer review be retracted so that they may be “reviewed” for such words as gender, LGBT, or nonbinary. They must excise such language and then resubmit. This is a disgrace.

Last week when I first tried (unsuccessfully) to get my driver's license gender marker updated, the person at the DMV was very firm about them not doing it but she also apologized and said (in a way that felt sincere), "I feel for you, I really do." 🧵

Welp, I was unable to change the gender marker on my driver's license. I knew my luck would run out eventually and there was only the tiniest chance I would be able to, so it's not surprising, just disappointing and frustrating.
