It would be nice to have a government that funded science such that no one doing it would be paid less than a living wage. While I'm at it, no one would be living in precarious circumstances to do science. Oh, and also the same for everyone working in the public service.

They are already deciding counselling to think positively and not just see the negatives is the way to go - with so and so of god as first option offered for those not affording private - apparently they wont be pushing religion, but yeah it is already starting sending rainbow kids to church groups.

Sadly a lot of TERF types have been arguing for that one for years - normally beginning with the GnRH anti antagonists we were poorly prescribed over 20 years ago.

A summary of our statement on the research protocol:
This research is not about the safety of these medications which have been used for this very purpose since 1989. It is the result of an ideological view at the very top of the DHSC and NHS that being trans is a ‘less desirable outcome.’

At an absolute minimum, from a pure values perspective, why would Aotearoa want to pin our healthcare against a trial like this? It will be a stain on our history to endorse this trial as a country. Don't let it stand.

still getting details but yes only trans kids not kids with say endometriosis, early puberty, etc. What is so far less clear is whether the ban is "only" for trans people under 16.
