I chuckle each time there's a top coaching job open, Michigan for example, and it's described as a "top 5" job. Well they can't all be top 5. Is Ohio State a top 5 job? Alabama? Texas, Georgia, LSU? That's a pretty strong 5 right there. How about Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida?

The VisitRaleigh. com Girls College Showcase hosted by NCFC Youth begins Friday. It is BY FAR the largest annual sporting event in the Triangle & there's not really a close second. Check out the numbers:

In 10 postseason appearances since 2002, the Canes have played in 27 playoff series and won 19 of them. I'm guessing not many teams have a playoff winning pct. better than .703 (19-8).

You know Kelvin Sampson is a legit Eastern North Carolinian with his two references to "Little Washington" at today's Final Four press conference. He also told me later that his career scoring high in college came against "Atlantic Christian" (now Barton College) in Wilson.
