Traveller, swimmer, and philosophy student wondering if consciousness can be explained using conventional physics. I am also into making friends with folks that love living in a peaceful democratic society. Constitution yes, cult of personality no.
I learned something new today. I was not aware of Hamlet's Problem, that is how long does it take to close a line of thought. I know about Hamlet, but I did not picture it as a kind of halting problem for consciousness. Thanks MIT! You guys are scary smart.

The Thalamus controls wakefulness. Could the function of the Thalamus be tuning in the energy level of the neurons to resonate to the waves and fields? The thalamus is a “miniature-map” of the brain, each cortical area has specific thalamic nuclei which regulates cortical energy into resonance?

Any thoughts on what you are going to put on your sign?

I don’t. I want to understand the neural mind so we can better see our common kinship with all other animal minds on earth. Nature gave us the gift of experience and intelligence. We need to respect our inheritance and understand where we came from and it’s not digital.

One philosophy question our study group had was if there are many centers of consciousness. For example are right and left hemispheres distinct centers of consciousness? Is it complex? Meaning a combined right and left plus independent right and left? The seamless nature of C is so powerful.

We had a long discussion if there is more than one center of consciousness in the brain and the phenomenal experience of seamlessness. Thanks Picower for the empirical study! Philosophers are pondering the amazing 21st century concepts coming from this science. This is good stuff!

I wonder about binocular rivalry and hemispheric phase. Does consciousness shift from left to right? Are there multiple consciousnesses in our brain and the waves flip them back and forth or does wave phase unify into a single entity? Interesting work.

Very interesting. I have been pondering if phase alignment can help us understand if right and left hemispheres are independent centers of consciousness as in Gazanigas split brain patients when the corpus callosum is cut? Do brain waves unify the two halves in addition to an intact corpus callosm?

Check out Wave Club on YouTube. Then look up papers by Pinotsis and Miller if you are super interested.

That I accept as true. However, I am pondering that when a memory is evoked by an EM field over the cortical surface, this is the potential mechanism of awareness. I like this because; (1) mind is not an epiphenomena, and (2) emergence is something we can understand, a double win for my taste.

From the abstract, "Here, we report that the phase of theta oscillations (3–6 Hz) in the frontal 12 eye field (FEF) is associated with temporal and spatial variation of the read-out of information 13 from working memory (WM)." What does "read-out" mean? Is it a change from stored WM to aware WM?

Libet in 2004 said, "Clearly, awareness itself is a mental phenomenon separated from the content of a mental event. Content of an event can be detected by the brain unconsciously, without awareness of it.” Miller 2018 seems to imply a mental event is carried by the EM field. Is that right?

AI that does not need a nuclear reactor? Or are we on the threshold of creating of something new?

We want a counter revolution against the fall of our democracy.

Contemplate the national debt with a shrinking population and a shrinking economy over this century if you want to write about something potentially alarming.

Many people of the Jewish faith do not want to displace the Palestinians. It's the right wing in Israel who are gleeful about Trump's idea to remove the 2 million Gazans. The policy to remove a people because you don't like their ethnicity, that's the Nazi part. One nation one ethnicity? Not good.

Israel has displaced and forced the Palestinians into ghettos and taken their land, and the Palestinians think Israel is like Nazi Germany, doing ethnic cleansing vs Arabs. Musk and Trump favors white christians, just as Israel supports Jews over Arabs. Trump Musk Israel, all ethnic nationalists.

What do you mean by a first order theory of C?

If computation is all you need, then GNWT may work. But a computation is all you need approach always appears to come down to a magic box where the lights suddenly turn on. I suspect that analog computation from Earl Miller's approach of gamma content modulated by top down beta will also require M
