I have watched decades of bad Phillies teams, so I’m not saying they’re a failure.
But, the criticism of legit. The lineup gets exposed by the better teams in October. It’s comprised of too many hitters who chase out of the zone.

I watched Red Zone every Sunday and at least 75% of the league’s offenses had better design than the Birds. That gives me hope that even the 3rd or 4th choice can be much better than Patullo.

Any GM can write huge checks to Harper, Turner, etc. The credit for that goes to Middleton for spending.
He didn’t build a lineup that is complimentary to the stars or hides their weaknesses. Now other teams know how to pitch the Phillies. They can’t possibly expect different results this year.
