Someone on Nextdoor posted about missing "three teenage ducks which travel in a band." 😂

This was my response. 😁
"The Ducks are gonna have their day, tonight. The Ducks are gonna have their way, tonight. The Nextdoor people grumble "Fair fight," but if they start a rumble, we'll rumble 'em right"

I love that place but I've not stayed there!

These old motels—or "tourist courts" as they were sometimes called back in the day—are the ones I always look for to stay at when on a road trip.

When I was in college I was NOT a morning person and a roommate gave me a plaque with this saying on it. (It didn't make me a morning person.) 🥱

Bought a nice decorative plate.

"Morgenstond heeft goud in de mond" (The morning hour has gold in its mouth), which is a sort of Dutch alternative to 'The early bird catches the worm', I guess.

Years ago someone wrote a great essay that basically said “it’s okay to like things even when bad things are happening around the world” and I wish I could find it, because too many people need to hear that message now

Things like "constitutions" or "principles" or "the rule of law" only have the power to constrain what politicians do if those politicians (& the people who vote for them) actually believe in them and are willing to adhere to them. If all you believe in is your own righteousness, then anything goes.

If you in anyway identify on the LGBTIA+ spectrum, I want to you to know that you are loved, who you are is beautiful, and you deserve peace and happiness.
And I especially want all of my trans friends to know this.

These Supreme Court oral arguments on conversion therapy are going to be painful. No matter what is said, know that trying to force someone to be what they're not is psychological torture with measurable negative consequences, and anyone trying to defend such efforts is a bigoted monster.

all of my retirement hopes now rest entirely with my partial collection of commemorative state quarters, a complete set of encyclopedias from 1974, some slap bracelets, a dozen slightly scratched k-tel records, and my final unused gwyneth paltrow vagina candle

I could be very rude and say "that's what you get for living in a bubble"—but I won't.

You're welcome. 😁

As a young music major in college I cringed at the sound of both Joplin's and Dylan's vocal stylings. I rarely admit that in public though 😁

My beloved city as I first knew it WAY back when. This is Powell Street near the cable car turnaround at Market. At the right is the former Woolworth's, where I (and so many others I know) bought inexpensive kitchen tools for our first apartments, in my case in the early 1980s.
