Morning self portrait attempt - Rokid Glasses. Yeah you can see the displays at angles

Absolutely no way this is true

Altman claims the company didn’t anticipate people not wanting their deepfakes to say “offensive things or things that they find deeply problematic,” which sounds like a lie but is also indicative of how they recklessly release tech into the world.
OpenAI wasn’t expecting Sora’s copyright drama
It felt “more different to images than people expected.”

Lots of cosplaying recently

NEW from me:

CBS News staffers literally rolled their eyes after new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss delivered a "cringey" rallying cry during today's editorial call, exclaiming: "Let's do the fucking news!"

"She's cosplaying as a broadcast journalist," one said.

I broke. I’m reading a cozy fantasy

Living between multiple pairs of smart glasses is hard because I only have two eyes as opposed to multiple wrists

Feeling deep existential pangs today. Are you?

I’m heading to Vegas in January. Old haunt, new times

The situation now is people are fragmenting in their blame of the cause of the enshittifying. Loved Doctorow’s book The Lost Cause

Is our common unifying thread that we all think everything is fucked up

There is a teleprompter mode that’s pretty cool though. Smart scroll a little wonky but it’s a fascinating idea (as long as you don’t see the green display though my lens)
scottstein.bsky.social
Also they have displays in both eyes, so the green monochrome floats as one display seen by both. Not monocular like Ray-Ban Display. But also these are just green text, few apps
scottstein.bsky.social
Two differences over Ray-Ban Display: charge cable runs right to glasses arm (you could charge while wearing?) and prescription inserts magnetically snap in. But no Neural Band here, it’s all voice and side touch arm controls
scottstein.bsky.social
Rokid Glasses, which have inserts in my prescription that magnetically snap in. I like that, and they’re small, but the style and function are a little weird so far. Green monochrome display can show through from outside

Putting a new pair of smart glasses. It’s glasses season

This administration is going to result in the kind of map you’d find in the front of a dystopian sci-fi paperback. “Indigenous Nation Tariff-Free Trading Corridor” sounds like something Philip K. Dick would have with come up with in 1972.

That’s exactly it. You can go to Disney sometimes or try to be in constantly

About the glasses or the VR?
scottstein.bsky.social
Been thinking about VR (increasingly seemingly demonized) vs smart glasses. The nice thing about VR is, you use it and then stop using it. It’s temporary. Smart glasses…the idea is to have them on forever

It isn’t AI slop but it sounds like it

Trump: "Please remember I wrote Osama bin Laden exactly one year ago, one year before he blew up the World Trade Center. And I said, 'You gotta watch Osama bin Laden!' ... I gotta take a little credit."
