These are the things you pick up on when you've watched a lot of rom-coms.

So the kiss was a bad idea, but River gives her A Look before it and does that thing where his eyes flick down to her lips right before the kiss, which is very hot.

These are my 2 AM thoughts.

But then maybe anyone who chooses to be in Mi5 initially just has brain worms that make them want to stay no matter what.

I've been rewatching some of the previous seasons recently, and how S3 ended made me wonder if at least one person would have resigned.

Especially when she mentioned that you are probably also depressed.

Kissing a woman unprompted after she gives an "I'm depressed" speech is just...

I mean, these two definitely have "let's bone" energy, but River absolutely does not know how to read a room or a moment.

sdpowell1.bsky.social
One of the best war movies that isn't actually about the war in question.

The Best Years of Our Lives is really a miracle of a movie for how beautifully it speaks to the moment in which it was made while keeping one eye open for how it can serve as a kind of historical record. It's so hard to tell stories directly about the immediate present, but it manages it.

I missed this phase because this was my mother's drink, and she let me take a sip of hers once when I was a teen, and I was disgusted.
