It is more important than ever that we have good information and don't panic at, say, a random state lawmaker introducing a bill that can easily be defeated. Organize against that bill, yes! Don't assume it's already law!

Most of the problems in re: this are issues of framing -- articles that have the proper information inside but are framed over-dramatically -- BUT I do not think it is good that I, _a trans person_, have started thinking, "Well, that's probably sensationalist!" about every piece of bad news.

The Best Years of Our Lives is really a miracle of a movie for how beautifully it speaks to the moment in which it was made while keeping one eye open for how it can serve as a kind of historical record. It's so hard to tell stories directly about the immediate present, but it manages it.

Also, under CA law, if he doesn’t veto them they become law. He doesn’t need to sign them for them to go into effect. Newsom is trash, but this article missed some important details.
