Up the Arsenal
That’s fair, I think Ødegaard has played a lot since the Bayern/Chelsea sub appearances.

Rice looked like a player that was indeed still recovering from illness. If we needed to we could’ve brought Zubimendi on for Rice

100% agree, I only went Nwaneri over Odegaard as I think he would’ve taken more risks, tried to have cracks at goal and he moves the ball quickly. He needs minutes where he can get them.

Yes, Noni on the left too for sure if Leo wasn’t fit to start. Gabi vs low blocks is a problem for us

Do you think Mikel’s line up gave Wolves encouragement at all? I personally think had he gone with Rice, Eze & Nwaneri for example, we would’ve played with more energy, potentially taken more risks and had a better chance at breaking them down. I think he got the line up and tactics all wrong

1) Villa away is massive, we need to push players where we can.

2) I’d love Merino to start vs Villa but he has played a lot. Gyokeres can get in behind Villa’s high line, bring Merino on late to keep him fresh + Gyokeres needs mins

3) Don’t even bother bringing Rice to the CL game

Villa: good form again, faster paced game, fresh legs in midfield, Merino in the 9 better suited for that type of game. Physical midfield so need Rice Zubi and Timber for example to be fresh

Jesus off the bench at some point in these games to get minutes in his legs will be key

Brentford: good form, slower type of game but more physical. Big threat from long throws, back 4 + Norgaard equipped to deal with them. Strength off the bench in Saka Zubi Rice Merino Gabi/Leo etc

Not to dim the light at all on an excellent day, do you think Arteta’s substitutes weren’t executed well enough? We were 4-1 up by 76 mins & he only took Trossard off for Madueke. In a big week where certain players like Saka/Rice/Timber etc will start all 3 games, could he have got them some rest?

Usually I dislike the international break, always have. However, considering the squad size we have now, has this been an important break to get minutes into the legs of players who haven’t played as much for Arsenal as they would’ve liked to start the season like Merino, MLS and Trossard

Considering Ben White played most of pre season & started at OT, although I believe Saliba will be fit for City but let’s say he isn’t. Would you start Mosquera or White at CB? Bearing in mind similarities between Mosquera/Gabriel, is White the more sensible choice especially as he’s > on the ball

Goodly morning fellas, obviously we’re only half way through the tie but how important do you think a night like last night will be to the likes of Saliba who we know Madrid want and our desire to get him to sign a new deal. The same for Bukayo and Gabriel

Goodly morning fellas, first of all 🖕🏽 Michael Oliver. I believe atm Rice is playing his best football for us this season. If he improves his shooting/finishing with late runs into the box I think he can be our Steven Gerrard. Is that fair comparison? @gunnerblog.bsky.social #Arsecastextra
