We lose that when everything has to be "professionally produced." Just seeing that you don't have to be an expert to contribute. You can give what you can and it is beautiful.

Boy howdy, do I have so many thoughts about this. But I will add that one thing I miss about humble Christmas pageants was just seeing what each beloved Church member could bring. Realizing that someone's Mom or Dad had a beautiful voice or contributed to the choir. Or built the manger.

My Mom would have loved that you guys built it bit by bit. She taught ESL for years to immigrants and my Dad and I were roped into the Thanksgiving play a few times for her class. She loved Thanksgiving and this country. She loved sharing that with her classes.

The food and rides did seem slightly more expensive than previous years, but overall still a great experience. I made the error of assuming my children would not like the rides - I was wrong.

Interesting. We went on Sunday (the last day) and it was packed the whole time we were there - probably about 7-8 hours. It was expensive, but not prohibitively so for us. I think for the price of the ticket it's a great value. My kids saw two street theater shows and heard great live music.
