... but Cllr Collins M has warned everyone ("even Pat Daly") that they won't be allowed to blather on.

That'll be a first. The Anti-Windmill councillors have been gagging for this meeting for YEARS

Highly amused by the lads scribbling on their #Aras25 ballots to spoil them and then posting them on The Internet so that someone will actually see them.

I scrawled this myself a month ago on The Internet.

Well, I’m off to vote, so I am. Thanks for the extra power, folks.

Mark Esper’s 2022 book claimed that Trump wanted to have the person who leaked that he hid in the bomb shelter under the East Wing tried for treason and executed.

Not aside, the site of the Führerbunker is, as y’all know, now a car park.

Yeah, they'll write a letter.

Kieran O'Hanlon wants a letter written to the Minister, but they'll be writing to the operators.

Who'll presumably point to the NTA (see above)

I didn’t know this presentation was coming, but here are some pics of Limerick laneways from yesterday.

I thought I’d have another few days to post this well-known John Gordon Thomson cartoon from 1880 featuring a Jim Gavin lookalike & actalike character as the #aras2025 race continued, but it looks like it’s post now or post never…

They'll be approving arts funding under the strategic fund later (10% of arts council awards to a limit of €5k). They'll zip through it, so here it is in advance.

Congrats, folks: make art.

Obviously I don’t know what happened in the private Limerick councillor workshop to discuss nominating a presidential candidate, but I assume it went something like this:

I'd forgotten how much more convenient it is to watch a council meeting at home. You can hear 90% of it at home. The main cavernous Limerick council chamber results in having to strain to hear people in the room from the gallery and you'll hear almost nothing of the online folks.
September 16, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Out of the usual, I’ll be watching this one live and in person.

Hello , folks.
September 16, 2025 at 2:28 PM
I’d like a fancier slideshow if we must have a slideshow, bearing in mind that we could do without a slideshow.
September 15, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Well, they’re all back, hopefully having had a nice wee.

A nice wee what, you ask.

Just a nice wee.
September 15, 2025 at 6:31 PM
This meeting should be available as an archive later (DCC are good that way) so y’all can watch it yerselves.

The theme mentioned above continues.

Quick drop-in to Dublin City Council’s #aras25 Presidential Pitch meeting, and I’ve arrived just in time for the Krazee Kidz section.

MOTION 16: item 42

Shane Hickey O'Mara wants a letter (A LETTER MOTION) written to the Minister for Agriculture to enforce Stout's Law, a campaign for stricter legislation to stop people mistreating their animals.

Here's a pic of Stout.

This morning's meeting includes a usually-easy annual vote on the allocation of the GMA Community Fund, aka the councillors' slush fund to gain support and votes. €25,142 apiece.

Here's what they'll be approving without controversy:
September 15, 2025 at 8:51 AM
This morning's meeting is the last public meeting before an extended break from any sort of scheduled gathering (the August council calendar is completely blank), regathering with new resolve or something in September.

Y'know, like this:
July 21, 2025 at 8:36 AM
Item 7 (we're jumping back):
Easy one this: strategic fund for culture and arts.

Council 10% matching funding of arts council (up to 5k if memory serves).

Congrats folks: make art.

Moving on...

Conference reports.

I've never uploaded these before.

Here are all this month's conference reports.

They're a bit "copy and paste the agenda blurb", aren't they.

Finally drinking that can of cider that has lived in the fridge for six or seven years.

It’s lovely, so it is.

Checked the bottom: BBE June 2020. This is the third fridge it’s lived in.

Two items on the agenda today.

Elect a new Priomh-Wotsit (that'll be Catherine Slattery)

Elect a new Leas Priomh Wotsit (don't know, have never particularly cared either)
June 30, 2025 at 1:59 PM
This morning's agenda is just TWO items.

Elect a Cathaoirleach (Under Piss Boy or Girl)

Elect a Leas-Cathaoirleach (Deputy Under Piss Boy or Girl)

Just two.
