Once described as "not nearly as serious as they first seem." Accurate. Not the sandwich-throwing one.

UCP MLA Red Deer south - ‘working from home’ so he can avoid he or his staff actually listening to his constituency members.
Ring those phones! Don’t stop!

"Faith, Family, Freedoom" is pretty darn close to the synopsis of Jason Stanley's "How Fascism Works"

The Government of Alberta will tell you, on the record, that when choosing a *private* school, class size absolutely matters.

Honey, wake up, new potential Alberta referendum on ending private school funding just dropped.

It was right there!

Ok, but do I JR Santa's nice/ naughty decision on the standard of reasonableness, or correctness? My rights and interests, etc...

What is the point of the fabled "Alberta Advantage" if not to invest in the best for our children?

I *think* (I am no expert) its so that if any teachers try to cross the picket line, the government wouldn't have to pay them for sitting in an empty classroom.

You want the public to hold the government accountable long-term so the ATA don't have to spend all its own capital convincing the public classroom conditions are a problem. And it costs nothing and would be politically hard for the government to say no.

I am once again insisting that @albertateachers.bsky.social @schilldawg.bsky.social insist on reinstating class size reporting in negotiations.

Class sizes, core subjects metro school boards, until the UCP stopped measuring in 2019.

After spending at least $42,000 on Facebook ads against teachers, all of the Government's Facebook ads ended today. There are no current education ads running.
Will see what happens tomorrow.

This government, for the past 6 years, has prided itself on its creativity in re-directing public money to private schools and charters that has never been done before anywhere in Canada let alone Alberta. It made choices.

Teachers: you know you've got a fair deal when, in a year from now, when the private schools come lobbying for money again, the government has to tell them "no," not because they want to, but because you've tied up everything in public education.

Don't stop until they roll back private funding.
seandunn.bsky.social
Yup.
And about half of those 3009 would've already been covered under the existing funding model, so its really only an extra 1300 or so that addresses the debt
seandunn.bsky.social
There's nothing that says those 3000 new teachers go just to public schools either.

Kind of funny how much of the content comes from (checks notes) Ontario's public broadcaster.

Interested to hear what teachers think of it.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but it’s just like Smith to silence those who don’t agree with her. #ableg #abpoli
Zoomed in picture of smith from alberta next panel gesturing to her throat to cut the mic of the young boy who McAllister said should be spanked

Teachers get paid what, over 40% less? And somehow manage to not threaten to beat up children in fits of indescretion. Amazing.
fakeezzie.bsky.social
What makes this worse is that we are paying this McAllister clown $14,000 A MONTH to treat more than 50% of Albertans like total garbage on a regular basis, in public. #ableg #abpoli

How about reinstating class size reporting?
