Most of history is human beings doing unthinkable things to each other, while intermittently consoling themselves with the idea that the people they're hurting "aren't real humans." We have to own that the worst of humanity lives inside us, in order to deny it and become something else.

This bill by a Washington State Democratic legislator would prevent any law enforcement agency in the state from hiring anyone employed as a sworn ICE officer after January 20, 2025. A good start, I say. Make them outcasts.
