Since it’s apparently been eight years since ARRIVAL came out, here’s my essay on Denis Villeneuve’s masterpiece and why it’s worth every single rewatch.

There’s still a ton of 2025 releases to come, but at this point in the year, I think TRAIN DREAMS is my favorite film of the year (above One Battle After Another). I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since.

Hincapié was brilliant today. Won everything in the air and his front-footedness allowed us to squeeze Spurs really well in the first half. Really impressed with him.

Finally watched all of MINDHUNTER (perfect series), not that there’s much of it to watch, just so I have another reason to despise Netflix. Great show, terrible company.

Look… I love that we have such a deep squad. It has already kept our season from falling apart. But winning the big trophies is fundamentally about elite talent, and I think we will need to have our best players on the pitch more often to make the most of this opportunity.

I get that we are deeper this season and that injuries have been counteracted due to depth (amongst other things). And maybe Gabi is back soon and this isn’t a bad injury (fingers crossed).
But you don’t take out (arguably) the best CB on Earth, replace him with someone else, and not have concerns.

The Gabi injury is such a gut punch in a season full of gut punches, but we’re 4 points clear, have good backups, and if it’s only a few weeks (big if), we should be OK in terms of remaining in the title race. It’s just so frustrating bc with merely decent injury luck, I think we’d walk the league.

Gotta say that I’m glad that the collective response among the Arsenal community to today’s result is less “we blew it” and more “football happens.” I understand the disappointment, of course, but I think we did even better been expected the past month plus dealing with yet another injury crisis.
