I just published my latest piece in GreySidewalk, taking a look at the 1870s in the US to discuss how the US implemented it's first federal immigration restriction act, and how we can learn from that era as we deal with an increasingly white nationalist environment around immigration today.
In 1882 the Chinese Exclusion Act became the first federal act preventing a single nationality from immigrating to the United States. We explore this era, and determine how we can learn for it as immigration rhetoric becomes increasingly white nationalist today.

JD Vance, Heritage Americans and those calling on Democrats to “moderate on immigration” share a long US tradition that goes all the way back to the debate around Chinese Restriction in the 1870s.

When the Green Party entered Parliament. A look back on Caroline Lucas’ 2010 campaign for Brighton Pavilion.
With the Greens surging in the polls, and an environment where they appear the main opposition to a Reform victory in 2029, let's look back at the party's most important election yet: 2010.

My new piece in GreySidewalk, lamenting Democratic capitulation on the shutdown. It leaves us on the left with little choice but to openly wage war on the party establishment to save any Democratic chances at midterm victories.
Senate Democrats have capitulated on the shutdown, wasting months of time and giving up the only fight they've engaged with in Trump's second term. The only chance for Democrats now is for Progressives to attack the party and win election as change insurgents.

Senate Dems capitulate again. Progressives will now need to save the party from itself.

The race is over, but Katie Wilson in today's ballot dump officially lifts the margin over 2000, ending any shot at a recount. Now we see if the final few ballots can bring the margin over 1%.

We took on a powerful incumbent who was expected to coast to reelection.

We faced more corporate PAC money than has ever been spent attacking a candidate in a Seattle election.

We built a people-powered movement rooted in hope for our city’s future.

And we won.

This is YOUR city!

A shit ton. I made a whole list of “centrist” and “moderate” corporate funded PAC’s that are attacking progressives instead of fascist candidates and how they organize and spend money to do it. It’s telling. Especially since they are democrats who supposedly want a “big umbrella” party.

Wilson up more after today's drop. Needs to gain 24 votes on Harrell in whatever is left to end any chance of a recount as well.

Ok but this might be the funniest headline of the Zack Derangement Syndrome on the UK establishment right media.

The Spectator must have spent most of that article explaining to their readership that they're talking about a social media platform not a grandfather clock.
They're all literally obsessed.

Trump's healthcare plan just being UBI feels like full circle to 2020. Literally the only popular policy he's ever come up with is give people money.
Translation: he has no idea how insurance works
