Hey Bluesky, should have done this first…

Second Story is a “label” umbrella for all the pseudonyms I currently release music under. Each artist has a unique genre. Definitely check the bio and also see @darph.secondstoryrecords.com and @moss.secondstoryrecords.com

Maybe others will join later?
All Second Story artists are now part of the @subvert.fm cooperative and will be publishing new music exclusively on the platform going forward

I believe every website should be a work of art.

I’m so sick of the same designs with different colors and images everywhere.

I yearn for the ugly days of the web when sites had interesting information on them

The old HDD did indeed live long enough to pass on its data to the new SSD that’s replacing it.

Remember kids, always have backups of your backup backups because all drives will fail eventually. There’s 12+ years worth of music that’s irreplaceable.
Replacement SSD came today. I hope the old backup HDD has just enough life in it to copy those old files to the new one.

It’s like no matter how prepared or how many backups of your backups you have you’re never prepared for a drive failure

Not sure why it never occurred to me that influencers are probably just buying that fake movie prop money and flashing that around.

I mean, we all know they rent their stupid sports cars and clearly don’t live in those AirBnBs they film in so why would the money be real?

People need to stop saying Trump and Elon are stupid. They’re not stupid. Ignorant; self centered, lacking expertise, yes. But stupid, no.

Every stupid thing they do is purposeful and they know the consequences

Taxes are progressive. That means a flat 30% on everyone guarantees the rich pay less for all goods while the rest of us pay more for everything because we are taxed at lower and lower levels the less we make.

If you don’t understand that look up how progressive taxation works

Winter is a time for hibernation. It’s rare that I’ve released anything before March

My artists will release projects when they are good and ready. Hopefully you like them when they’re out. If not, it’s okay. Bad music exists, bad taste exists, but preferences are neither right or wrong.

@moss.secondstoryrecords.com and @darph.secondstoryrecords.com are enjoying life for now

I feel like I’m watching Stupid James Bond. There’s all these Bond villains… but like, stupid. And there’s no James Bond to try to stop them because everyone’s just like, stupid.

It’s Stupid James Bond.

The nice thing about spinning disk hard drives is that you know when they’re about to die by their death clicks.

In other news, I’m glad I have a backup of my backup drive. A lot of music is about to potentially be lost here.

Facebook was NEVER founded on principles of free expression. They claimed from the start they were about “connecting people”. Turns out people don’t have 10,000 real life friends and can just text each other. So they “innovated” with… spyware.

Do you use Facebook? If so, why?

As if the system’s ever worked. Facebook is not taking a right turn. They never cared about social issues to begin with. They’re bleeding users and attempting to keep all the scum who hang out there engaged and fighting woke ghosts in an attempt to stop the bleeding.
NEW: Meta has quietly dismantled the system that prevented misinformation from spreading in the United States. Machine-learning classifiers that once identified viral hoaxes and limited their reach have now been switched off, Platformer has learned www.platformer.news/meta-ends-mi...

Fun fact: during the full moon a man’s groin engorges and turns inside out and purple for 3 days in preparation for the expulsion of all the expired spermatozoa inside him.

Ask your husbands and boyfriends, they know.

Why do tech bros have the most dogshit hard right politics?

These same dudes were hardcore progressives a decade ago. I’m starting to think they never believed in anything at all and were told they were geniuses when they weren’t.

How would you take $1 and double it? Let’s do it and see how many times we can double our money

Stage names are important. You could have one artist who wants to release electronic music one day but then put out an old school grunge record the next.

Audiences need to know what to expect from each. Sure, it’s the same person but to the listener those are different artists

I don’t like how now that he’s old we’re rewriting history to make Ringo Starr some sort of great drummer of history. He was fine. He played the right parts for the song. He’s fine. Not amazing.

Can someone give me some encouragement?

Trying to finish mixing for one @moss.secondstoryrecords.com EP and finish recording on another that’s been written. Then @darph.secondstoryrecords.com is starting work on a new record at the same time.

I’m on a 2 week vacation from the day job. Can I do it?

Today we lay to rest the foam ear pieces from our trusty MDR-7506. They kept us comfy as we monitored. The cheap Amazon replacements can never live up to your legacy

Developers should never be targeting specific browsers. We ended that era back when we were trying to kill IE6 over 10 years ago. Bad reason, Google
