👏 Many thanks to Florian Meissner who was our guest today for the # SECUSO research seminar. Prof. Meissner talked about how media presents topics on cybersecurity, who discusses cybersecurity topics on social media, and how to motivate at risk users to adopt secure digital behavior.

They found Wi-Fi devices communicating with each other in a person's surroundings produce patterns based on radio waves that are similar to images captured by cameras. The individual does not need to have a Wi-Fi device in their possession, and special hardware is not needed to identify anyone in range of a wireless local area network.

👏 Congratulations Tobias, Florian, and Philipp, for winning the best paper award for their paper on the development and evaluation of a video on #onlineelections. The paper was chosen for bridging the gap between research & practical application, and providing benefits for society as a whole.

In multiple user studies, we developed improvements for the different components of a verifiable online voting system. During the demo session, participants had the opportunity to cast their votes via the online voting system and to verify the accuracy of their votes using a second device.

Filipo Sharevski presented a joint work between #SECUSO, DePaul University, and @ruhr-uni-bochum.de during the poster session at #SOUPS2025 on Monday evening. This collaboration led to the development of a framework to develop information security awareness measures.

Am Samstag war Tag der offenen Tür im kit.edu! Wir waren dabei - Maxime Veit stellte im KD²Lab unsere Forschung zu adaptiven Sicherheitswarnungen vor und STAR, unser #Security Teaching & #Awareness Roboter, präsentierte im Ehrenhof unsere Arbeit zu E-Mail-Phishing interaktiv und ansprechend 🤖🗣️
