Aussies, Kiwis and the southern hemisphere also calls it ice hockey because they play (field) hockey. The northern hemisphere drops the ice because the frozen version is more popular. And in my opinion, more exciting. Trump is unfamiliar with both varieties so his post is not surprising.

When I taught Crystallography and Mineralogy at U South Alabama in the mid 2010s it was less than $1300/oz. I'm old enough to remember when the price of gold was floated in the 1970s. Back then, gold was $US40/oz. I wish I had a time machine!

I'm not sure what criteria is used to judge individuals for Nobel prizes, but given Carney's credentials, his so far successful strategies for trade between other countries and Canada, and his Davos speech, I'd say that at the very least, he deserves a nomination for the Economics Nobel this year.

Canada doesn't make a lot of EVs so I don't see why allowing more in from another country would threaten our current manufacturing industry. Perhaps Chinese investment could make them here in some of those assembly plants already shut down by US manufacturers like Ford
