At the end of last week, Dr. Herbert Fournier & I welcomed several groups of high school students in grades 10 to 12 who visited our Cape Breton University’s campus.

We had a fun outreach activity about “Exploring the Geology in your cellphones”. 1/2

We discussed specific examples related to how geology can be valuable on public health. Students were engaging and showed great interest in learning more about different applications of Earth Sciences and the role of Geoscientists.

Herbert Fournier & I visited the Centre scolaire Étoile de l'Acadie. Students from Grade 9-12 came to our Geology station to check various samples. 🧵1/2

I’ll be chairing a special session ‘Social media geocommunication and digital resources to promote Geosciences’ at the Atlantic Geology Society Colloquium AGS2025.
