I'm not convinced all these new women's basketball leagues are actually healthy for the game of women's basketball in the long-run.

Are they actually being formed to "grow the game" and "give additional options"? Or are their primary purpose to make money for those that head them up?
What is Project B? The latest on a new global league recruiting basketball stars
Speculation has bubbled for months about an international league that could pose a threat to both the NBA and WNBA.

If I had unlimited funds and no kids, I would definitely enroll in motor learning and athletic training masters programs before diving into, like, history or something.

The objectively correct answer is the 23-24 Minnesota Timberwolves but I would also accept the 24-25 Minnesota Timberwolves

What's the greatest NBA team of the last 25 years to *not* win a championship?

The Ringer's quarter-century review continues with @michaelvpina.bsky.social going deep on the 2018 Houston Rockets (despite my pleas for the 2000 Trail Blazers).
The Greatest NBA Team to Never Make the Finals
They never won a title, but they still achieved basketball immortality. Just look at today’s NBA.

Many of my academic advisees are starting to get accepted into impressive graduate programs and I can’t help but be a little jealous. If it were up to me, I’d never not be enrolled in a graduate program.

Playoff baseball makes for super fun small sample size theatre.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. currently has a higher batting average (.700) than on-base percentage (.667).

The biggest mistake schools and franchises make is assuming that because it worked elsewhere it will definitely work here. That because they had success, they must have run a tight, professional ship. It happens all the time. It will happen again.

Summary of the softball pitching mechanics literature:

1. Have strong glutes
2. More force production= faster pitches
3. If the legs are weak, the shoulder compensates

.....thanks.

Like, there's functionally none.

I'm working with my college's softball team on player development and you'd be surprised how little research there is on softball pitching mechanics.

I've never seen a more NO NO NO YES play in my life

I fully expected this play to end very Jags-like but absolutely no one could have predicted how simultaneously Jags-y and unJags-y it ultimately went.

Biomechanical analyses in baseball/softball are extremely important. But there is no such thing as "perfect mechanics." There are general guidelines and reference points but the key for athlete success is combining mechanics and motor preferences.

Ah, yes, the old uniquely Harvard problem of the students **squints, gasps in horror** not doing the readings or participating in class

Why yes I did just say "Good morning" to someone on campus while crushing an energy drink at 6:30 pm. It's been one of those Mondays.
