V was never quite sure how Lizzy managed to talk her into these situations. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. She knew how, she just couldn’t believe how easily swayed she had become, wrapped around the little finger of a being who had once been nothing more than prey to her. Although… the word prey wasn’t giving Lizzy enough credit, no. Lizzy was clearly far too cunning to be mere, simple prey. There were times V had watched Lizzy’s eyes come alight like a predator in waiting, preparing a sharp, devastating blow to some poor drone’s ego. And besides, what ‘simple prey’ could bend a creature such as herself to her every whim? Long, pegged legs clacked against the polished, vinyl flooring of a space in the bunker that had been retrofitted into a clothes store. V wasn’t sure what it’s original purpose had been – perhaps a warehouse, or general storage unit… not that it mattered now, of course; any remnants of its past had been plastered over with posters of drone models and flashy advertisements for this cycle’s must have accessories. A tail dragged apathetically across the slews of mismatched shirts on rails that threatened to topple at her touch, the eyes on her headband instinctively snapping to attention at the swaying movement of the fabric as she passed. Robo-God… what was the obsession the drones here had with clothes? They were just some stupid, trivial little thing humans had thrown on them as though they were no more than noncognizant dolls. And they didn’t need to wear them the way humans did, for warmth or modesty, so why? Why was Lizzy so desperate for more? Was it not enough that her closet was fit to burst enough as it already was? “I can hear you glowering,” Lizzy said flatly without looking at her. She had been leading V down what must have been the seventh aisle – though V could no longer be certain. They might have been going in circles at this rate. Part of her CPU had shutdown about half an hour ago.
