It seems to include most v small towns - Bridge of Allan is on there! (Though my Dad's locale of Lochmaddy, North Uist, is not).

This podcast is genuinely extraordinary in exposing police practice in the UK around domestic abuse internally, i can't remember something quite so open about how broken the internal systems with the police are with actual testimony from people who've been a part of it.

Imagine being so passionate about domestic abuse that you dedicate your career to supporting victims - only to become one yourself at the hands of your own institution.

This is the story of three policewomen with one shared experience.

🚨ICYMI I’ve spent months talking to policewomen abused by fellow officers about how their partners used police training and authority to facilitate abuse - and how their own forces closed ranks when they asked for help.

Wife guy post: Eve has worked on this story for months, and done so with more journalistic integrity, kindness, and skill than I’ve ever seen. It is an exceptional piece of work and deserves the widest audience. Please read, listen, and share.

🧵 In February, I got a message from Anna*, a female police officer. She was a domestic abuse specialist, responding daily to calls from women abused by their partners.

But she was also in an abusive marriage herself, for more than a decade - and her abuser was another officer.

Hi @firstbus.bsky.social - what’s the logic behind a 15 minute bus from the airport to Glasgow city centre costing £11? Cheers.

Every year thousands of workers come from overseas to pick fruit and veg on UK farms. But an organisation who supports them says they’re not being paid for all the hours they work - and payslips they shared with me show the same.

EXC: “There’s a significant risk… [coercive control] will play a part in some cases of assisted dying”

In tomorrow’s Observer, domestic abuse experts told me victims had been ignored in the assisted dying bill which could be “misused as a tool for femicide”:

Charities warn of ‘significant risk’ that victims of coercive control could be put under pressure to end their lives under assisted dying legislation
