This is sinister. If you're wondering why so many people don't report sexual assault, this is why.
jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

This is also from the JP Morgan filing. Framing Epstein’s operation as a “sex-themed cult” is a good descriptor, I think. I haven’t seen it elsewhere, laid out quite like this.

Found the Associated Press article where the existence of this letter was first disclosed two years ago, in response to a FOIA request

It's definitely real

The DOJ identified at least 10 co-conspirators who worked with Epstein and Maxwell. It’s obvious to anyone with two eyes that Epstein and Maxwell were engaged in organized crime, yet NO ONE ELSE involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring has faced criminal charges. Why?

Bonta: But the order today—could not have been more favorable for the states… It was a complete rejection—a slapdown—a complete failure to accept any of the arguments from the Trump administration, because those arguments are not acceptable.

Big ups to Marty Lederman @martylederman.bsky.social who flagged this argument that SCOTUS relied on (that regular forces refer to military forces, not federal law enforcement).
NEW: By a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court blocks Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Chicago to assist immigration agents. A majority holds that he likely lacks authority to do so. Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

Just want to add: Being convicted of a crime in the U.S. wouldn’t justify sending someone to a foreign gulag to be tortured, and arguably violates separation of powers since the “sentence” they are legally bound to serve is one issued by a judge, not Stephen Miller (i.e. the factoid is irrelevant)
Bari Weiss lied in her memo. She said segment didn't report administration's legal justification (it does in the very first sentence) and didn't say how many detainees had been charged with crimes as opposed to just those who were convicted (it does). www.muellershewrote.com/p/watch-the-...

TRUTH.

For example, finding an eye-witness account of the Burr-Hamilton duel that seemingly no one else has found…

I didn’t move for hours.

Made it into my dissertation.
Into my first book.
And into the Hamilton musical.

Research, man.
Nothing like putting the pieces together for the first time.
I don't have a specific story at the top of my head, but the experience of picking up a loose piece of paper and realizing when you get to the end of the page that you now know something about the past that literally no other living person knows?

Unbeatable.
I think we need a mega thread of everyone's craziest archive stories.

NEW: Billions of prescriptions for generic drugs are filled in the U.S. annually.

The FDA reports testing only a few dozen of them every year, and it has largely dismissed warnings about contaminants, irregularities and other issues.

Here’s what we found when we did our own testing:

SUPER timely as SCOTUS is about to kill agency independence & give POTUS more control over agencies (likely to donors' benefit)
